For 20 years I was a Theatre Director and ran the UK’s national theatre of new plays Paines Plough.

I toured productions all over the world, built the planet’s first pop-up plug-and-play amphitheatre and got a medal from the Queen.

It was great.

But one day I woke up and decided to make a change.

It took a year of soul-searching, failed experiments, support from my wife, coaching and courage.

Now I earn my living working 3 days a week Coaching Arts Professionals.

The other 2 days are dedicated to my wife, three children, border collie and writing things like this in my beach hut by the sea.
